Technical level can't delete items from a rack

Reasonably certain this would be a bug, since we want engineers to be able to edit a rack diagram, keep it up to date etc.

Have a rack in a client, he's added an asset into the rack (3U), then can't remove it afterwards. I with admin permissions, can delete the entry…

Hi Alan that is correct only an Admin can permanently delete.

Your Techs should be able to archive it instead which is the safer approach and it wont show up in the UI unless you click on Archived

I think @Alan means rack unit items. We should probably allows techs to edit those?

I can't wait until we can nail custom permissions..

Yep, not the whole rack (that makes sense), just items within. Since you can't edit an item (like move it a U because you got it slightly wrong), you need to delete it and re-add it.

We just pushed out an update to allow techs to remove devices from a rack unit.
