Migration from server A to server B

I want to migrate from one server to another.

What do I have to copy from old server to the new one ?

I would like to know how to do this as well and feel it would be nice to publish this on the ITflow.org website under docs i could not find anything. I feel like we should Post how to backup as well.

ruggedit i remember someone giving advice on that here on the forum

but ideally it should run in a VM so you can just move over the VM without a headache

Bigbug In my case those are 2 VMs but one of them has to disappear (unfortunately the one with ITFlow on it).

I was thinking of doing a "new install" with the GIT command but instead of configuring it I will SCP everything from the old to the new and restore the DB.

I should do the trick I guess…

Bigbug Yeah i have in the cloud with 3hcloud right now with a full nightly backup.

Bigbug 3hcloud does not have this option i have moved to digital ocean now.

Current Install

Backup the uploads folder
Backup the config.php file
Backup the DB: Admin > Backup > Download DB

Install new server preferably Debian 12

Install using the script
When finished import the db using the given itflow username and password
replace the uploads directory with the one you backed up
move over the config.php file into the ITFlow directory
Edit the config.php and replace your the DB username and password to match the new DB username and password
Set correct web permissions:
chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/youritflow.yourdomain.com
login and grab the new cron key
edit /etc/cron.d/itflow with the correct cron key

Note: You will not use the WebUI Setup

Yep… Did the trick but I've had to increased :

to be able to restore the DB 😉

Edit : I've started before seeing your anwser but I basically did what you said 🙂

How hard would it be to set up redundancy servers?

@ruggedit not sure how this could be done with ITFlow, were open to any ideas on this.
