Feature Request - Switch assets, multiple ports on 1 interface

Would it be possible for a network interface to have the ability to add more than 1 connectable port?

If I wanted to connect all devices in an office to the 1 48 port switch in the server room, I need to create a new interface on the switch. I would need to have 48 interfaces listed, all created individually with different names.

I would very much like for the ability to just separate by comma (or something similar) in the port field for all the relevant ports.

Jambery every port is technically an interface

It would be better to be able to bulk create them because as of now it's really tedious

Yeah I agree its extremely tedious. I think if its a Switch, Patch Panel or Firewall to have a text box for number of ports and it will just auto create them upon the asset creation

I mean yes, technically they are a different interface, but not all ports have different configurations. If you have a single management address on the switch and its only switching on the 1 address then why would you need to have 48 different interfaces all labeled identically? Just have that there are ports 2 - 24,27,29 on this configuration.

Then you can connect the other assets to any one of the ports listed in that range.

What I've suggested to the rest of the team is note the ports we care about. LAGGs, special configs for devices that must be on a VLAN, instead of relying on LLDP.

Depending on how detailed a network topology you need. For one of my audits I have to be able to account for every network and device plugged into every port on every switch.

Just pushed out a few updates to the develop branch

We added the ability to create Multiple interfaces after you create the asset, along with interface type and we changed the port field to description for now. We recommend everyone to use interface_name as the port
