Hey Dev Team,
I have another suggestion for the license tab.
It would be useful to have a "License Type" field with options like Perpetual, Volume License, Standalone, Microsoft NCE, etc., instead of the current "Type" (user, device). The existing "Type" field should be moved to "Usage/Target" instead.
Under Purchasing Date, add a Vendor field that can be selected from a vendor list matching client_id
for better reference and traceability.
This would also help with reporting and license expiration notifications. In reports exported for clients (or shown in their portal), vendor details and other admin-only data should be excluded.
Another option (though this might be a bigger job) is to allow the License Details tab to either select from existing products or enter a new license manually. Since licenses are added as products (which can be referenced in invoices), some relevant details are already available—just need to update Vendor and price for the product.
Hopefully, this makes sense! Many MSPs, including mine, handle various license types from Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, Veeam, and more, so this could be really helpful.
Here are some examples of license types:
Perpetual License, Volume License, Standalone License, Subscription License, OEM License, Trial License, Freemium License, Microsoft NCE, CSP License, Enterprise Agreement (EA), Software Assurance, SPLA, Adobe VIP, Adobe ETLA, Adobe Retail License, Veeam Universal License (VUL), Per-Socket License, Per-VM License, Autodesk Flex Licensing, Single-User License, Multi-User License (Network License), VMware Perpetual License, VMware Subscription & SaaS License, Horizon Subscription License.
Let me know your thoughts!
