Hey everyone,
As I continue using ITFlow, I’ve noticed a key area that could be improved: inventory management. I know the devs are doing amazing work on other features (seriously, they’re awesome!), but I wanted to start a discussion to see if others share my vision for a comprehensive MSP-ready inventory system.
I’m happy to contribute and help build this out, but I’d love input from the community to ensure it meets everyone’s needs.
My Vision for Inventory Management:
- Support for Non-Serialized Products
- Items like cables, monitor stands, mice, and keyboards
- No need to track specific units—just manage stock levels
- Integration with invoicing and alerts for low stock
Support for Serialized Products
- Items where tracking serials is critical (CPUs, PSUs, switches, etc.)
- Full stock tracking via serial numbers (Find your barcode scanner!)
- Ability to assemble assets from inventory items
- Seamless replacement of components within an asset (e.g., upgrading an i5 to an i7 or swapping out RAM)
This would require an overhaul of how assets are managed, but I see that as a huge benefit to ITFlow’s capabilities. Would this be something the community would find valuable? Any additional features you’d like to see?
Looking forward to your thoughts!
