Ticket - Bill based on time worked

I am currently testing out ITFlow for my one man shop

Is there a way to bill based on time worked? I have several customers that do not have a service agreement and only wish for hourly support

I can see that I can set an hourly rate for a customer, but when I test "Invoice Ticket" I can't seem to find a way to auto calculate and add to the invoice.

Ideally it would take the time worked, round up to the nearest 0.25 (15 minute) increment of an hour, and multiply by the hourly rate set for the customer

Does this feature exist?

Hey Flerp,

Under the reply section of the ticket, you can see the ticket status and next to it there is a timer that automatically starts. You can click on it, and change that manually (by typing the hours and/or minutes) so that reflects the time you want. That in the end, will show under the Total time worked section in the Details card. Finally, when you`ll invoice from ticket, the time will show in the description line along with the ticket number, ticket subject and so on…

Yeah I see it attached, but I was wondering if the billing can be set to automatically take the hourly rate and calculate the invoice

Flerp You're correct, isn't a feature - yet.

Edit: The invoice ticket functionality would need to somehow know a) if you want the time billed and b) at what rate.

What we are doing in OSticketing, the first item of the invoice where shows the ticket details, we get the hourly rate automatically and we just adjust the number of hours.

Maybe, we can set this to take the hourly rate of the client to be shown in the price of the first line of invoice.

This is probably the best approach actually @aftechro. Most times when you'll be using the invoice ticket button I'd assume it's to bill the time, as managed services clients wouldn't be invoiced this way.

We can find a way to make the ticket info, rounded time worked and hourly price show in the invoice first line by default, and it can simply be removed if not needed. Could also be conditional on having an hourly rate set / higher than 0.

This is an interesting thread, and this could work quite well as we Bill on the 15 min increments as well for remote support. We still bill managed clients the negotiated hourly rate on contract only if its out of scope work like Anything onboarding like a new workstation, laptop, server, user or recovering from a disaster, after hours support is out of scope work and therefore is billed by contracted hourly rate.

done a PR https://github.com/itflow-org/itflow/pull/693 which now adds the price from hourly rate of the client.
