Migrating Servers

I moved my ITFlow to a new VM (was hyper-v, now proxmox) I copied all files from old instance

/var/www/*
/var/lib/mysql

if I drop into maridb and show databases I see the ITFlow database

I tried reinstalling ITFlow and the only errors I got were SSL (makes sense) and "Importing database...

ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'itflow'@'localhost' (using password: YES)"

When I go to the html page I get the generic mysql welcome page but can not see ITFlow login page.

What am I missing and what command do I need to run?

your Apache vHost files might be messed up

Since it's a new VM, you may need to recreate the database user and password, and supply that to ITFlow.

mysql> create user 'itflow'@'localhost' identified by 'SomeStrongPasswordHere!!!';

mysql> grant all on itflow.* to 'itflow'@'localhost' with grant option;

mysql> flush privileges;

Then go into the directory where you installed ITFlow, and edit the config.php. Change the "$dbusername and $dbpassword$to reflect what you just entered into the mysql cli.

ok new issue! I reinstalled from scratch.

Ok so to update:

I reinstalled ITFlow on Ubuntu because Debian was giving me issues.

I setup the new installation to the landing page.

I installed phpmyadmin in Ubuntu "just google it"

I had to add my primary account to 'localhost' and GRANT all privileges to it.

I then logged into phpmyadmin through the web URL

I imported my backed up Database into the 'itflow' database.

Everything is back!

Thank you to everyone for your help!

This software would benefit GREATLY from a Backup/Restore function.

Glad everything is back up and yup we now have full backup and restore via the WebUI as of last update from 2 weeks ago.
