Does Client Export -> Change -> Import Overwrite?

I need a way to mass update all clients/contacts, as on a import of all customers an error occered and every email was assigned to the next client in alphabetical order. Meaning all my customers have incorrect email addresses.

I tried an export, modify and import, but this just skipped everything.

Tried to do the same with contacts but it just makes another contact.

Feature Request: Would be nice to have a mapped data confirmation on data upload…

How do I mass update emails for 2500 contacts?

Do i… edit the database? If yes, how do?

This would be a feature request. Technically clients dont have emails but each client references a primary contact which has an email. The only solution we got right now is import clients then import contacts for each client. This is something we would love to improve upon in the near future.

Also what does your current export file look like we would just need field names? We'll see if we can work up something.

Could it be from empty fields, each time an empty field is read it skips instead of importing?

A names are 1 or 2 off, down at g we have emails with h etc.

I'm going to look into client importing, its been a very long time since we wrote the importing portion, its possible there may be a bug. Fridays are typically pretty busy and today is no exception, but I should have some time to squeeze in there to investigate further, also let us know if you spot anything in the meantime that could be helpful on investigating this issue.

I'm unable to replicate after exporting my clients and importing them into a new ITFlow instance.

We've since manually went through and updated client/contact emails.

Most likely an input issue with my original csv, but I do wish and only ask that a verification window or mapping example or display how uploaded data will be imported before a final "ok do it" button.

Hey @digibandit Glad to hear your contacts were imported though it should hav gone more smoothly. We are still interested in reviewing your CSV to see what might have caused the issue and improve future imports.

Im unsure how to best implement a verification step, especially since the data gets transformed before hitting SQL but open to ideas, especially if there’s an open-source tool that does something similar.

If you're comfortable sharing the CSV, please upload it, we'll handle it securely and delete it once we’ve figured out the issue. If not, no worries!

johnny They imported just fine first attempt, but that was the problem in a sense, no verification that the data was correctly mapped/inputted (technically a word) etc.

I'll see what I can do for the csv!
