Invoice/Quote Idea - Deposit/partial payment

Is it possible to add a "Due Immediately" Type of ordeal to allow potential clients to pay a deposit amount rather than an entire inovice?

For example, Quo-1 = 5800 $Deposit Required 3000$

Rather than having to create a new invoice for a deposit? May I also suggest adding the callback to the Stripe API to allow the deposit amount to be paid via CC through Client Portal?

Hello, @tgifol, you should have the capability to generate an invoice with itemized details and establish a standard due date. However, within the invoice notes, please mention the specific amount required for the down payment and emphasize that it should be paid immediately.

Once the invoice is ready, proceed to send it. Upon receiving the invoice, your clients can make the payment through Stripe, where they will have the option to manually enter the down payment amount.

A confirmation email will be sent to them, indicating that a partial payment has been received for invoice number XXX.

When using the invoice link with stripe integration the checkout has a set/determined amount prefilled. It doesnt allow a custom amount to be entered.

Also if we could add the ability to disable CC processing for individual clients that continue to swipe/decline?

I see what your saying now with Stripe not allowing the client to put a custom amount in. We don't do down payments so it must of been over looked.

If we made it so the client could enter a custom amount would that suffice?

I agree I think a client setting for enabling and disabling Online Pay per client would be a wise move.

I wrote the integration with Stripe specifically to only allow full invoice payment but can't remember if there was a reason why.

Enabling/disabling the online pay per client would be a great addition!

Is there an option for having techs/admins manually adding a "deposit amount" area during quoting/invoicing? We usually require full payment up front however, some cases are a more delicate than others.

This will for sure add back end complexity. I really think the best solution for now if a down payment is required is to use separate invoices for example you have the original invoice then the down payment invoice and in the Description you can say Down payment for Invoice #XXX.

At some point this would be nice, but at the same time we also don't want to over complicate the back end code.
