Mardown Support in Documents

Hi!

I think it would be great to have the ability to save documents in Markdown format. Perhaps we could include a switch to choose between HTML and Markdown. Alternatively, ITFLOW could ask for the preferred format when a new document is created.

What do you think about that?

Hey. What benefits are you seeing with drafting in markdown over HTML/WYSIWYG? I ask as a) we'd have to convert markdown to HTML for it to display properly in the browser anyway but also b) if you draft something in markdown and copy-paste formatted output into the document editor, it should retain and convert the formatting to HTML anyway.

wrongecho You can actually read and edit the raw text, unlike messy HTML tags. And you're not tied to one platform like you are with most WYSIWYG editors. Markdown is used widely across tons of platforms, especially for documentation i guess. Yes i could do as you mentioned but it is not correctly displayed in the doc editor.

Markdown is just a lot easier to write for knowledge documents as its technically just text, which the platform can choose to render it as HTML when viewing (or not) but it streamlines the process of writing/editing.
