I do not believe there is any change management of any kind in ITFlow. I believe there should be. An example would be:
- You have a Change Advisory Board (CAB)
- Option 1: You have ticket processing rules that you can assign request categories to kickoff an approval etc.
- Option 2: Kick off manual approval cycle
- Once Approval is triggered, the ticket is locked from normal users (not admins) and there is an email sent with a link that anyone on the CAB can click (do not require a login) to approve or deny and add notes.
- Once that is clicked then the ticket is handled
- Any further change approvals can be kicked off again from the ticket
That is the simple way.
To go deeper you can have an entire separate ticket type of Change and then reporting can show better numbers on things. You can also have it to where changes have to meet a required minimum threshold of say 2 approvals and so everyone on the board gets the email and two need to address it. You can also weigh approvals differently. Say if you need a threshold of 2 and the CEO approves maybe their approval is worth 2 approvals. You could even then say when a ticket fails to meet the threshold or is denied you could have it close the ticket entirely.
Just an idea. Again, I didn't see anything for change management which usually comes with a CAB/approval cycle. If there is and I missed it somewhere please let me know.
