Use Invoice Line Item Category for Reporting

When ITFlow reports on product / service categories does it only take into account the Invoice category itself? Or does it use the categories set on the product / service within the invoice.

For example, I have an invoice which has a category of "Hardware Revenue", the invoice contains 2 line items.
Item 1 Category - Hardware Revenue
Item 2 Category - Hourly Labour Revenue

Will ITFlow report the invoice as a whole only under the category "Hardware Revenue" or will it use each line item category for reporting?

itmunky everything gets in the database so you could potentially have reports against both.

I personally think that reports should reflect actual invoice lines.

I agree it should reflect the invoice line items however I have just tested, and it only reflects the actual invoice category, which makes it hard to track expense vs income against particular cost centres.

Invoice line categories is what matters.

Eventually we will want to move the income category reporting to line items instead of invoice category.

But all the line items that dont have a category we could just default them to the invoice income category in a future update.

Just push separate invoices based off the income category. Its a little extra work but will do the trick for now.

Yeah, that's what I have been doing as a workaround. It's just not as nice from the client's perspective
