Ticket Estimation

We are using ITFlow for a while now and recently we thought about using this for our planning as well.

The Kanban board is a nice addition for this. But what i'm also looking for is to make an estimation for tickets. We like to work in fixed periods of 2 weeks to make the planning (see it as some sort of Scrum). So if I could give a ticket a certain weight (or T-Shirt size or Fibonacci estimation for example), then we can easily make a planning for the upcoming period (sprint). Possibly a next step would also be to give a total possible weight to a sprint per person and then make it calculate automaticly if the tickets "fit" in the sprint.

I'm now fidling with the categories to give an estimation to a ticket, but then we can not give a regular category to a ticket anymore. But on this way we are able to see the estimation in the kanban view.

I wonder if we could utilize ticket tasks for something like this? They already include an estimated time for each task.

Hi, thanks for your reply and for thinkin along. What you say might be interesting.

So if I understand correctly?

Create a ticket
Create 1 or more tasks in them and add an expected time
The ticket gets the total time as value to calculate with to see if it fits my sprint

I just noticed that adding time to a task in a ticket is a bit cumbersome:

Create a task
Edit the just created task
Add time to the task
Save the task

Maybe that should be made easier as well?

And also we do not always need task within a ticket. Maybe an option to (manually) add time to a ticket would also be handy?

We really would love to see the estimation of a ticket on the list and kanban view so we can immediatly see it. So we don't have to open the ticket first to see the estimation. That make is easier for our regulary planning moment.
