Log Retention

Working on the Anonymize contacts feature made me think about audit log retention. I think I've mentioned it before, but can't find the post.

Audit logs potentially contain several bits of PII such as user name, emails and IP addresses.

Should we add an option to automatically purge older audit logs via the nightly cron?

I had an issue now, that my itflow was slow loading things

I've realized that logs had a lot of entries, especially because of my use of API wich generates a lot of logging ( integration with trmm). After I cleaned up logs table, solved my issue, faster than before.

@hugo - I wouldn't usually associate a large audit log with performance issues as we rarely call the audit log. It's weird that this fixed performance issues for you.

wrongecho indeed really weird… I saw that even on sql was slow if I select all data, really had a lot of entries.

Maybe, we could have an option on API Keys, to enable logging or not. I saw that my integration made a lot of log entries

About log retention, wow, will be nice!!
