Issues with Updates

I'm unable to update through the web application I continously have to go run a git pull as www:data user. Is there something I'm unaware about that will allow me to see logs of this command running?

Question - Do you happen to know when the next commit to the repo will be? I've been troubleshooting the issue I'm having where the "Update" Tab doesn't actually change the page when it see's new commits to the repo, and I think I've got it solved.

Just want to test it out, then I'll hopefully I can write up my solution here and hopefully solve this problem for others in the future.

Just for follow up here I haven't been able to solve this. I need assistance in tracking down where I can find what the Updates.php page is/isn't doing. Upon further inspection via ssh on the server, git is spitting out and recognizing that there have been updates to the remote repository and I'm behind, however I have to manually run a git pull.

Frustrating, but I'm determined to fix this.

Made a post in your thread @afiadam reiterriating my woes as well, I'll update as soon as I belive I have a fix to my problem and hopefully my solution can help others via my final write up.

@johnny - Moving my answers to this post again.

Had to restore database.

Restored Database and can see my items in the tables within the database using myphpadmin, however when I login with the account (admin) I cannot see my 4 other accounts I have within the database on the webpage. I'm also not seeing any vendors ect that were imported into the database either. Was wondering if anyone's recently restored there instance from a database backup and can layout steps to see if I missed something, or if I have a very wierd 1-off issue.

It's becoming a little difficult keeping track of who is who amongst these issues as both you and afiadam keep commenting on each others threads.

It sounds like either you're using the wrong database in your config.php or the import didn't work properly. You can add most things directly into the database via CLI/phpMyAdmin/whatever and it'll show up in ITFlow (providing the required fields are supplied).

Here's an example of me adding a vendor to the demo instance via phpMyAdmin, they now show up for the "KaCom" client (client ID 50).

how would this work for the encrypted passwords under login? I have my decryption key - but I don't know where to apply it to "Decrypt" all the passwords. Is this something that can be done, or am I off base?

Also an update of manually adding items into the database shows as successful with phpmyadmin but do not reflect the changes within the webpage. Do I need to restart the apache2.service or the mariadb?

When applying the updates manually, are you also including the like to change the database version?

Yes, the backup .sql file I have was 1) taken with the latest database level at the time (0.8.0 I believe) and I haven't applied updates to the site yet, to keep everything at the same level as the backup.

I've done both manual field inputs and using myphpadmin to import directly, both of which complete successfully in myphpadmin - but do not reflect on the website.

Also for the dycryption tool, can I just download that .php file and place into the /var/www/html folder and navigate to it via mydomain.com/nameofphpfile.php like the rest of the site?

So I found the problem. The reason items were not showing on my website but were correctly placed into the data base had to do with time records.

Specifically, "user_updated_at" and "user_archived_at" the boxes need to be checked (when looking at the items in phpmyadmin). Once the boxes were checked I'm assuming to indicate the items were NOT archived, this is what made it possible for me to see the items on the website. My imports happened to have dates that filled out those boxes with something other than the current date which is why I couldn't see them in the database.

Now for the decryption part - are there any instructions on how to use the decryption tool per chance?
