Import Assets - "Bad Column Count" error

Finding when I am importing assets, I get a "Bad Column Count" error.

Similar to forum.itflow.org/d/325-bad-column-count-error-when-uploading-passwords/4

csv contains the following item:

Canon,,Printer,Canon,iR-ADV_C5850,,,,Primary

Have tried, with no luck the following:

both with and without the headings - per the sample csv template

one item (per above example) up to 20

Also tried eliminating all:

  " " spaces

  """ double quotation marks

  "'" single quotation marks

  "-"

  "_"

  null or empty values (placing dumby text)

This is definitely a bug, thanks for reporting.

That fixed the import (was able to bring in the data).

I did find one thing though; I tried importing a second CSV, one that had a typos in it - an extra " " space before the Serial (after the "," comma).

It imported the first 15 records (that were correct) however failed did not import those with the issue.

Process:

Selected the CSV
Clicked import
The application pushed me to /post.php and I received an error 500 page.
Went back to customer and assets and found the first 15 items had imported
checked the CSV, found issue, deleted the first 15 items that had imported, deleted the extra space and reimported,
received the green successful message and the items were in the list

This is just a heads up as you need some kind of error catching code around this.

ALSO not sure if this is classified as feature request:

I have tried to import an asset I know exists (I was testing) and received a message something like "0 assets imported, 1 duplicate found".
Is there a way to use the import to update or modify existing assets - or prompt what action to take if there are duplicates (and what the duplicates are).
This is to allow for bulk updates
added contacts after importing assets and want to assign them now to the primary user.
also had the experience with passwords\logins the other day were they imported without URLs and want to update them.
