davesmith87 A new field in the asset would be useful named "End of Life". Then a corresponding report that would list all assets that are EOL.
wrongecho Hey! Note we currently have warranty expires as a date field. In your view, would EOL be a date field or a checkbox?
davesmith87 wrongecho I would think it would be a date field. That way you can set it when the asset is created, and can reference the date in the future. I thought about the Warranty field though, but this really does have a different purpose.
Alan davesmith87 Agreed, EOL and warranty field are two separate metrics. We very easily have a product where the warranty is three years, but it already has a stated EOL of say, 2029. There are some standards/compliance that don't want you using EOL hardware etc.
athornfam2 I think @davesmith87 meant by end of life is part of life cycle management. Assets do not always go by the warranty date so having something related to lifecycle management would be nice to get details on. Something like a "installed date" with a company wide set of rules to determine EOL. For instance, APs were installed 09/10/2024 and we want them to be EOL in 3 years. 90 days before end of life we get a ticket for it or we have reporting available to get a list of those devices that are coming close to that companies determined lifecycle.
