Email to ticket parser bug

last night I got a marketing email from "LinkedIn" which is unfortunately not my client yet…
but somehow it managed to create a ticket from itself and got assigned to my real client which has no domain or email identical to LinkedIn's domain or email address, what's more concerning, is that it assigned itself to a contact within that client that doesn't have an email address associated to it.

Could you please share the message headers? You can redact the TO details.

Ideally though if you could share the entire EML that'd be great - I can PM you if you're happy to?

Also, is there anything significant about the client/contact it associated with? E.g. Is it the first client or most recent contact, etc?

As discussed in the PM: unable to replicate but I think this is due to a parsing error in the contact email. If the contact email is parsed as blank, then it will match the ticket to the first contact with a blank email. I'm not exactly sure why the from email couldn't be parsed, but I've raised a PR to ensure that these are rejected going forward.
