Cron Email Parser attempted to execute but was already executing

Hi,

I have just setup the incoming email parser for tickets.
It created a cronjob to run every minute.

When it runs, the audit log gives the error:

Cron Email Parser attempted to execute but was already executing, so instead it terminated.

This seems to happen each minute.

If I reboot the server, it works correctly the first minute, and the ticket is created, but then subsequent attempts give this error.

After a while, it gives this message:

Cron Email Parser detected a lock file was present but was over 10 minutes old so it removed it

Then it works correctly, but the problem reoccurs.

Any ideas what is wrong?

Hey @nm123

We recommend cron is setup to run the parser every minute. To prevent emails getting processed twice, we use a lock file that is cleaned up after cron runs.

It sounds like your email parser cron script gets stuck somewhere and never finishes (removing the file lock).

Is email parsing working for you? I would assume it isn't and recommend checking over the IMAP config.

Yeah the email parsing does work, once the lock clears. But then the file lock is on again for another 10 mins.

I did have trouble getting the IMAP to work for a while, I cant remember exactly what i did to fix it, but its working fine now.
