Itemized Discounts for Invoices

Is there any way to add itemized discounts for specific line-items within invoices? I understand a discount can be applied to the whole of the invoice, but I would like to discount the line-items associated with services while NOT discounting line items associated with products being resold. Is there a way for that to be reflected accurately in the invoice?

The way I handle this is

create a new line item below item you want to discount and label it as discount and use a negative number for price. This way works perfect
