Password length is there a limit?

This was an existing password I think I had imported.

I was entering a new API key for my antivirus and it is 380 characters in length.

I was getting a 500 error.

Played with PHP errors to see if I could get the offending module and give more feedback, but no luck.

Tried a shorter password like newpassword and everything worked fine.

Hey Patrick,

The database field for login passwords currently has a max size of 200 characters (usable size is probably a little less due to encryption overhead).

I've said elsewhere on the forum that we don't enforce these field limits in HTML or PHP validation at present, so unfortunately currently you just get a nasty server error if you hit them.
