The long-term plan is to have permissions to be customisable to avoid this "My X can't do Y". Choosing good defaults with regards to permissions seems to be tricky as everyone has different ideas of what roles should be able to do. In some companies, techs invoice. In others, the owner doesn't want the techs to know anything about pricing or invoicing at all…
I did start the permissions overhaul here the other day, but we think a more modular approach is needed so it will probably be a while off yet.
Full transparency: The parent issue for permissions overhaul was opened Dec 2022 (itflow-org/itflow530), to give you an idea of how much longer this might take. ITFlow isn't a full-time job for any of us so new features tend to move much slower than the commercial solutions out there that have a full team of developers putting in 40hrs a week đŸ™‚
