Hello,
I want to move ITFlow from a VM to a LXC container. Would the built in backup/restore function within ITFlow be suitable for this?
Backup/Restore
We don't have a built in restore function at the moment.
You basically want to install using the script, don't complete web setup and instead copy config.php, the uploads folder and database.
Thank you!
Would it be best for us to just back up those 3 things instead since we have to go through the install process with the script again? I am about to update mine and wanted to make sure my stuff is secure before doing so
The advice here was for migrating rather than BAU backups.
For a daily backup we usually recommend to just backup the entire VM. As ITFlow is targeted towards MSPs, we kinda assume you already have other workloads you're having to back up, so ITFlow can just be backed up the same as those. But yeah, nothing stopping you just backing up those three things.
wrongecho Gotcha, ya I am a new MSP and was recommended to you by someone and I have to say, this software is deff one of it not the best. Its easy to use and I love the features it currently has. So for updating you recommend just backing up the vm first and then doing the update and that way if things go wrong I can just restore from that backup?
focusflarenetwork Thanks for the kind words! I would recommend you do daily backups using Veeam or whatever backup technology you use. Then, before doing an update just do a quick snapshot (HyperV calls it a checkpoint) so you can easily revert changes to minutes before the update.
