I LOVE the additions to products & services!

Could we get a purchase price field to prep calculating profit/loss/markup/etc?

This will be possible in the new release as you can link a stock to an expense.

For Example Buy 10 Power Cords put it as a stock.

Go to Product Click add stock on power cords choose the 10 Powwr Cords Expense. Eventually will have reports for this too

So, let's say I purchase 30 laptops off a supplier, 10 lenovo 10 Dell, 5 HP, 2 Asus and 3 different types of macbooks. Would I enter one expense for the 30 laptops or would I create 7 expenses and need to do some math to sort out the details of cost etc?

@digibandit Thats a really good point. I mean ideally Expenses should have line items just like invoices, then you could link to the Expense then line item of that expense for stock, but man would this be a huge rewrite.

So for now which may not be ideal is to have separate purchase receipts from the same vendor and log them as separate expenses.

johnny I wouldn't change anything with expenses right now, its nearly perfect. I would 'simply' add a purchase order module (copy paste of quote/invoice module with 'some tweaks') that would then talk with items (products) on a per line item basis? Like a product entry module of sorts. A purchase order would have a corresponding expense (entire total.)

I have a vendor I purchase software subscriptions from. Because you can tie an expense back to a client, I have to enter the same invoice multiple times so I can tie software invoice line 1 to client a, line 2 to client b, line 3 to client c.

but you see then you cant really categorize the expense because it could be many categories so instead you would have to categorize each line item in the expense. Im not sure what the best approach to take here but you got me thinking hard on this one.

@digibandit Interesting I like your approach, still would require quite some overhaul but it should be done at some point.
