VLAN/Switch Documentation

When I document a switch, I’d like to also document the VLANs of each port. How are you currently handling this? Ideally, I’d like to have the option to display the VLANs and PVID directly in the port overview.

You can do this by creating a network under networks assign the network a vLAN and then for the switch port just go ahead and select the related network.

Then I would have to create the same network multiple times?

Example

A port can have PVID 99, vlan10 untagged, vlan 99,100,200 tagged.

How should I document this?

One work-around with the way the program works today, if the above example is common across your infrastructure, would be to make a network

Name: Voice Passthrough Trunk

Description: Data vLAN xx, Voice vLAN xx

vLAN: xx - NOTE: I would suggest this be the data vlan since it won't accept multiple numbers.

Network: 0.0.0.0 / Gateway: 0.0.0.0 (only because you have to have something there).

Otherwise you could make interface notes that aren't visible anywhere but the interface. Or Asset Additional Notes which would be visible when viewing the asset.
