johnny The categories I've got right now are Employee (employee configuration and employee termination subcategories), a category for our in-house software, Hardware (PCs, Printers, and Other subcategories), Network, Servers, Phones, Security (Cameras and Cybersecurity subcategories), and Software (Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Other subcategories).
The ticketing system I've got now doesn't support custom statuses, but ones I've used in the past and liked are Scheduled, Pending Assignment, In-Progress, Waiting on Shipment, Waiting on User/Customer, Waiting on Vendor, and Closed.
Edit: I've also used some in the past that had what effectively were cosmetic statuses. For example, "researching" was treated the same as "in-progress" for SLAs and things of that nature, but was better for communicating the status of a project to someone just skimming the ticket board.
