IMAP Mail Settings (For Monitoring Ticket Inbox)

Good evening

I am trying to connect IT Flow to Monitoring Ticket Inbox via an office 365 mailbox. The outgoing SMTP Mail Settings (For Sending Email) all seem to work correctly.

I have enabled IMAP on the office 365 mailbox but will not auth am I missing something or is this a know bug ?

Hello,

Unfortunately IMAP will not work with M365 as we only support basic auth at present.

Only supports basic authentication. This will not work with Microsoft as they require OAuth.

The limitation is actually within the PHP IMAP library itself. It has been a feature request for years but the module is essentially abandoned at this point. We'll be moving to something else in the near future so we can use app registrations / enterprise apps to login with oauth for parsing emails.

It was yourself who originally gave me a lot of the inspiration for the mail parse function 🙂

is their a work around with IT Flow or Office 365 to get this working at all ?

@Josh found a way to proxy IMAP connections to 365, kinda like an SMTP relay would be on premises but for IMAP. See here (I haven't tried it though).

I know some people are forwarding mail to Gmail, as they don't block basic auth completely. Not ideal though.

You could also self host a mail server on the VM and forward support emails there? More hastle, but the most flexible.
