Email Test: Email From Name

I am not sure but I believe this is a bug. When my IT Flow instance sends out an email, the from name is not showing and it just shows from as the email address. All of my quotes and invoices that I send out are ending up in the spam folder of my clients. Shouldnt the from name be what is displayed to the user and not the email address?

Hey,

I'm fairly sure the sender display name does work, unless something changed recently. Looking over the code, I don't think the test function actually sets a sender name. Could you setup a dummy client and email yourself an actual quote to test please?

Either way, the sender name wouldn't be getting your emails into spam on its own usually. Is your SPF / DKIM setup correctly?

As @wrongecho stated deff look at SPF and DKIM Setup for the domain

May also want to check to make sure the mail server in use has a PTR record aka Reverse DNS Record

I'm going to fix it so the test emails show the correct From Name

Hello @smcs we just submitted a patch so it shows the proper from name when sending test emails out.

This is mainly cosmetic.

@wrongecho @johnny I will check the recommended settings, but I am using a hosting provider and most of the time their DNS records are correct, but I will double check this. Thank you for the information on the test part, I did not realize it did not have the from name code setup. I will do some tests and report back today, thank you both for the assistance.

smcs just for the email tests it didnt have the from name, but everything else it used the proper from name.

It does more then just DKIM - it shows the spam assassin breakdown too

Checked and all is working as it should, even the test email snow show the proper from name. I had no issues with spam on any of my email providers but for some reason yahoo puts them in spam. Any way thank you both for the assistance and the dkim validator.
