Bulk add Tickets based on template

Just wanted to retouch an ongoing (for me) issue.

I have to touch the hosts file on forty five computers. I have valid reasons for this.

To track the work, I have to create 45 tickets by hand.

Sure I can do a ticket template, but the subject line is the same across all 45 computer.

What I would suggest would be to append " - %asset_name%" (or whatever it is called) to the subject line so you could tell at a glance which computer you were getting ready to work on.

When we switch the general new ticket modal to use the new format, how would you feel if the template button simple pre-filled the fields for you instead? That way, it'd be pretty quick to make tweaks?

Kind-of like how you can type the name of a product in an invoice and the fields are pre-filled with the description/cost (same logic/feel at least, we'd still have a separate field to select the template).

@wrongecho In this last case, johnny 's idea from March 7 would have been perfect. Waaayyy fewer clicks. Unless what you are suggesting incorporates the ideas from March 7, I would still have to create 45 tickets by hand.

As it was, with the ticket template I was able to get most of it reasonably quick. It took longer to create the tickets (>30 minutes) than it did to actually do the work (<2 minutes).

On the ticket templates, I would really like to see all ticket fields available including category and project. Though project might be difficult since it is tied to a client.

Duuudddeeee….. That is awesome. My preference would be to append vs prepend the asset tag.

I usually title my tickets: project - description - asset. But that's just me and the format I have standardized on.

Question: Would it be possible to add the ticket category to the create ticket modal (all)?

Just noticed that the ticket numbers are the same (added two tickets)

They have different ticket_id(s) but both show the next ticket number.

Opps we just fixed the ticket numbers not incrementing.

We added Ticket Category Selection, to Bulk Add Tickets in Assets and in New ticket (Was missing there)

For the Asset name maybe we can have a selectable option next to Subject to prepend, append, Don't Append asset name in subject. Ill work on that today

@johnny and @wrongecho Thank you for implementing this! I like the selectable option for where to put the asset (or not).

This will go a long way to supporting change management against devices.

The only other suggestion to this I would have over the pre- vs append would be to pull the asset primary contact as the ticket contact, and the asset location as the ticket location.

Currently these default to no one and none respectively.

I love this feature!!! Have already created 100 tickets with it.

@JosephWithCOR I like that idea.So we can give 2 options use asset Assignee or Choose a contact.

Wondering if it would be possible to update the "Recurring Ticket" creation process to allow you to create a recurring ticket from a Ticket Template?
