Email headaches with Office365 email and ITFlow

I'm trying to configure Office 365 email in itflow and having a brutal time of it.

I've gotten my 365 tenant to the point where it allows external SMTP to function and confirmed using the SMTP test tool at mass.co however ITFlow still will not send. Additionally the security settings must be lowered/disabled to allow app passwords to be used. This negates using OAuth2.0 which is now a required measure for IMAP access.

Is there a way to use OAuth2.0 tokens so it can connect with email service from office365? They have a detailed guide to implementation here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/client-developer/legacy-protocols/how-to-authenticate-an-imap-pop-smtp-application-by-using-oauth

But I don't see any way to configure ITFlow to work with this.

Would be grateful if anyone has gotten this to work and could point me in the right direction.

Hello,

There is no support for OAuth currently, only basic username and password which Microsoft considers 'legacy'. You might be able to get SMTP working, but they pulled support for basic auth IMAP a while ago.

Understood. Without expecting anything concrete, is there a rough idea when that might happen? I understand google apps are also sunsetting legacy auth as well.

And, any idea why ITFlow refuses to send with SMTP despite that working with other services? I've checked and my Debian vm is dedicated solely to itflow, is updated with sslv3 pls 1.1 1.2 and 1.3 enabled, so security wise it should be able to connect to office smtp.

I can't see anyplace to look up the error that must be occurring.

We don't currently have a date on when this would be implemented. I think I explained either in that thread or elsewhere that the PHP IMAP function/library we're using doesn't support OAuth (it has been an open feature request for years), so we'd need to find a third party library that does.

Regarding SMTP, mail will be added to a queue. You can check the queue status at Admin > Mail Queue.

The top two issues with the mail queue are

There may also be some details in your ITFlow Audit Logs and/or your Apache/PHP error logs.
