Hi team,
I’d like to share a real-world use case that could help improve how invoicing works in ITFlow:
We work with a movie production company that operates multiple productions under the same parent company. The official client in ITFlow is set as:
Production Company
Main Street 2, Production Studios
0234, IE
main@company.com
Each year, this company runs several different productions. For example, this year they’re running 3 productions, and next year there will be 2 more. Each production has a different name, but the legal entity remains the same.
At the moment, to reflect the correct production name on invoices, I would need to create a new client entry in ITFlow for each production, like:
This approach leads to clutter and redundancy, since the parent company and address remain the same. The only thing that changes is the name and sometimes the email for billing purposes.
It would be incredibly useful if ITFlow allowed editing of billing details at the invoice level — specifically the ability to override the company name and email on a per-invoice basis. This way, we can issue invoices under different production names without creating separate client entries each time.
This feature would benefit not just media/production clients, but any business working with the same legal entity across multiple projects or brands. It keeps the CRM cleaner while maintaining flexibility in billing.
Would love to hear if others have faced similar cases or if this is something feasible for a future update.
On a separate but related note — just a kind reminder about a previous suggestion regarding invoice notes templates for ticketing, discussed here: 👉 https://forum.itflow.org/d/805-invoice-notes-template/4
If that feature is still under consideration, it would pair well with the flexibility requested above, offering even more control over invoice presentation without needing to duplicate data or clients.
Thank you!
